Posted by Ashish Sunar on March 03, 2021 in

Everything about Stephen Hawking is a source of inspiration, the plight of genius trapped in an ailing body, the hint of a smile brightening a face in which only a single muscle can move; the distinctively robotic voice was inviting us to share the exhilaration of discovery as his mind roams through the strangest corners of the Universe.

Against all the difficulty , this remarkable, figure has transcended this usual boundaries of Science. He is author of book ‘’A Brief History of Time. Which sold ten million copies. Cameo roles in popular comedy shows, invitations to the White house and a well-received movie about his life have confirmed him as a celebrity. He has achieved nothing less than becoming the most famous scientist in the world.

He was given two years to live In 1960s when he was diagnosed with motor neuron disease. But He was still researching, writing, travelling and regularly appearing in the news after more than fifty years. His daughter Lucy, explaining this extraordinary drive, describes him as ‘enormously stubborn.’

Whether through the pain of his personal story or ability to enthuse, Hawking captures the imagination. He had warned that humankind faced a series of disasters of its own making and an article reporting his words was the most read on the BBC website.

It is a terrible irony that such a great communicator couldn’t have a normal conversation .For interviews, the questions had to be sent in advance. In his Cambridge office, the board was covered with equations. Mathematics of the most rarefied kind of currency of cosmology. But Stephan Hawking’s unique contribution to scientific research was to harness the approaches of apparently very different specialism: most famously , he was the first to investigate the vast realm of space using scientific techniques devised to study the tiny particles inside atoms.

The legendary scientist , theoretical physicist  Stephan Hawking was born on January 8, 1942 and died on March 14, 2018 leaving a his excellent discoveries for the word. Discovery of Black Hole is not only his achievement its great contribution to space science.
