Background
The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme is the UN organization that promotes volunteerism to support peace and development worldwide. UNV contributes to peace and development by advocating for volunteerism globally, encouraging partners to integrate volunteerism into development programming, and mobilizing volunteers.
Requirement
- Academic: Bachelor degree or its equivalent in the field of Social Science, Development Studies, Environmental Science, Communication, International Relations, computer science, software engineering or any other related discipline.
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience (3 years) in working with youth organizations, youth entrepreneurs groups, social ventures and private sectors and Innovation hubs and labs.
- Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment
- Good networking, negotiation and communication skills
- Proactive attitude with capacity to propose new initiatives and think 'outside the box"
- Exposure to event management and advocacy would be an advantage
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential
- Proven competency with standard computer applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Out- look, Internet) and social media (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube).
